In the story of Elijah we see that he had to go through the desert, but God sent provisions for him. You can meet God in the desert in a new and fresh way for you will learn to function in Christ’s strength. Elijah’s faith would be tried as he went to the place where God wanted him to go. Our faith will be tried in the present storm we face also. God says you need to eat of what He has for you. You need to let His word come in to you. You need to go to Jesus and drink.   God is taking us to a new place. As I look back at this special year that God has prepared for us, there is a purpose in what seems to be madness. God has a plan. Jesus told the disciples they must cross over the lake; they met the storm, but Jesus was in the boat with them. He will be with us in the storm this year is presenting to us. We must learn in times of difficulty (these do pass) that we should not fear but trust in God. What should we do? Look in Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord, with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” God called Abraham to follow Him. But when famine came, he left the place where God had called him and went down into Egypt. However, there he learned the cost of going on his own and not trusting God for his provisions. He came back into famine and trusted God for the provisions he needed.

Religion is captivity. Religion comes to nothing. It does not bring you to God. The same thing done over and over again does not bring you to God. God in His mercy throws a wrinkle in your life; He challenges you by putting things in our path. This stops the on and on process which leads to nothing; therefore, seek the Lord and live.
